Criteria and Requirements

Student Pass

Any foreigner wishing to pursue full-time studies in Singapore in an institution that is:

registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE); or has obtained approval from the Director of Singapore Immigration & Registration to accept foreign students

is required to apply for a Student's Pass.

Local Sponsor

A local sponsor is required except for those studying in Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL).

Security Deposit

A security deposit is mandatory for all foreign students.

It is refundable provided that the student has not breached any of the conditions stated in the security bond executed by the local sponsor

and his departure from Singapore is confirmed by Singapore Immigration and Registration.

Student's Country of Origin & Deposit Amount Payable

	Malaysia and Brunei		Nil
	Indonesia, Philippines & Thailand		S$1,000 in the form of a Banker's guarantee
	People's Republic of China, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar		S$5,000 in the form of a Cashier's Order
	Others		S$1,500 in the form of a Banker's Guarantee
